Annual Report 2010

1. Since last AGM SASSI has continued to organise monthly meetings subjects suggested by members.

February and March we held ASD surgeries when members could raise any topics for discussion.

April, Kevin Baskerville from Leicester ASD outreach Service talked about Anxiety.
In May SOLO talked about the different activates they offered.

In June we had our most successful when over 100 people heard John Simpson.

In September Kevin Baskerville returned to talk on Sensory Issues.

In October Lee Burden form autism west midlands gave an amusing talk on sex education and relationships.

In November Alice Singleton from DIAL gave a very informative talk on benefits.

2. Coming up. Lyn Cogan from Family Fund, Kevin Baskerville on developing social skills, Transition, John Simpson, Julie Keen on Signpost Autism summer activities. We’re hoping to have talks after that on sleep, diet, toileting and education issues.

3. The committee also hope to run tips in May Half Event and Summer Holiday for different age groups. Also sponsored event and raffle in summer. We’re still in process of looking at charitable status as big issues for those who become charitable status.

4. Thank you to Jonathan Harris who has stepped down as Vice Chair, especially for helping set up SASSI and writing Constitution.
