Hi everyone. This is the first proper blog about SASSI. Hope you're finding the new website useful, do let us know what you would like SASSI to be doing. We really need a few more people to join the committee. We are all working, have kids with ASD plus all the other stuff and it helps if there are more people to help with planning the events, making the tea etc. The committee meets once a month at The Wilson Arms in Knowle, so we have a drink or a coffee and a good chat as well as planning future events. Please email me if you would like to join.
We hope to start putting useful books, DVDs on the website let us know of any that you have found particularly helpful.
The April meeting with Kevin Baskerville was very successful and we're hoping he'll be back in Septemeber to talk about sensory issues. Don't forget the may meeting when staff from SOLO will talk about leisure opportunities and the transition event in November. If you have young people with ASD especially Aspergers do encourage them to come to the June meeting when John Simpson is back for the third time. He is a brilliant speaker and really lets us know what school and college can be like for someone with ASD. Hope to see you at the meetings.
Best wishes
Jan Bradshaw (Chair of SASSI)

Welcome to our brand new website. As you can see we've had a bit of an update. We've done this in order to make the site even easier to use for you and for us.
We continue to have regularly updated news and events from SASSI and other groups from around the local area - which are now handily colour coded. You can view these both on the homepage and our latest news page.
For a list of SASSI's upcoming meetings and events please visit the events page.
We have photos of past meetings and fundraising activities available on our photos page.
We will be setting up a forum very soon to give you the opportunity to contact other carers / parents as well as people from SASSI.
To view documents such as SASSI's Annual Report visit the resources page.
We have links to other organisations we are associated with on our links page.
If you have any questions about SASSI or would like to contact us, either visit our FAQs page or use our enquiry form on the contact page.
We also now have a blog through which we will keep you updated on various topics regarding autism, ASD and other topics.
